Set in the charming Old Quarter of Hanoi, the city’s most beautiful location, this 85sqm “915 sq. ft” Boutique Character Duplex is on the 5th floor in the old apartment buildings, locally called ” Khu Tap The” (KTT) which has been recognized as the architectural heritage of the subsidy period back in the 1980s. The KTT represents one of the architectural landmarks of Hanoi’s history, showing people the history of the capital city.
The design of the apartment is stylish with touches of local art & traditional craftmanship, and natural lighting reaches every corner of the apartment. While the exterior has been well-preserved, the interior design reflects the nostalgic charm and gives you extra comfort, privacy, and refinement like a true home away from home.
The unique furniture and cement tile floor add a touch of a retro feel. That is not to say modern amenities are lacking, many thoughtful touches like a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom with a hand-made bronze bathtub & luxury modern sanitaryware, and the incredibly comfy mattress are subtly added to the overall ambiance.
The Serene Azalée is an ideal place for travelers seeking charm, relaxation, and convenience in Hanoi.

This is the most charmingly decorated place we’ve stayed in during our two weeks in Vietnam. There are little added touches like bathrobes and shower shoes that make it more like staying in a hotel. As others noted, it is five flights of stairs which wasn’t too bad with backpacks but I imagine regular luggage would be quite cumbersome. The showers work quite well with hot water and good pressure. It is time for a good grout cleaning of the bathroom floors though! The hosts were very communicative and accommodating of a request to leave a small piece of luggage between our two stays. The beds are comfy and even though it’s in the heart of the Old Quarter, the noise is mostly muted. A great place to stay in the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, walking distance to everything.

Phuong was an exceptional host. Seriously went above and beyond. Extremely responsive and helpful. We had been traveling 3 weeks and stayed in a lot of places but Phuongs place was by far the best. It was very well decorated and made me actually wish that I could have spent more time in the house – our schedule was super busy so we really just slept there. The linens were excellent and the beds comfortable. The house location was perfect….right in the heart of everything! Phuong also gave great recommendations -for bars and restaurants! I will definitely tell any traveling friends about Phuongs place and will stay again next time I am in Hanoi😁
